From the desk of Director
Yet another eventful year 2015 became part of history. Bal Vihar witnessed yet another year of qualitative improvement in providing better facilities and environment to ensure over all development of children. One of the major achievement was successful completion of audit of account from 23 May 2012 onward, which was held up due to non availability of opening balances.
Bal Vihar News:
- 95% Bal Vihar Children passed in their class and started their New Academic Session.
- Karan one of Bal Vihar boys scored 70% marks in XIIth CBSE Examination; He is rehabilated to his sister’s home and leading happy life.
- Muksan, Class- Xth student, passed CBSE Examination and rehabilitated to her own house (completing 18 years).
- Three children (girls) have been set free after completing of 18 years of age. However they have been permitted stay in the home till alternate arrangement are made.
- Bal Vihar welcome six (new) girls in its family who have been admitted to various schools in the spirit of “Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.”
- Court appointed receivers Dr. Anjali Gandhi & Dr. Neelam Sukhermani were relieved by the Hon’ble High Court and Managing Committee comprising of members from DCPO, CWC, KHUSHI & our home was constituted.
Good News:
Chandni was suffering from pulmonary Tuberculosis. She was under treatment from Health Centre, Palam, New Delhi. With regular care and course of medication, she has recovered.
Renovation of Bal Vihar Building:
Renovation work completed in boys and girls wings. To avoid damage to the walls of building tiles have been fitted on outer walls of the home. Tiles have also been fitted in the hall. The stair case in boys wing was falling apart and has become dangerous. The same were repaired at a cost of Rs1.75 lac approx. Other repairs of building including white wash and painting has been completed.
Home received generous support from Patrons for the renovation works.
Medical Services:
- Dr. Manju Goswam (Retd. from Safdarjung Hospital) visits weekly for general check-up of Bal Vihar Children.
- In the month of March 2015 Free Eye Check-up and whole body check-up camp was organized by Vasan Eye Care Centre in Bal Vihar.
- In the month of October 2015 second Eye-Check-up camp was organized by FDC Ltd. and free medicines and spectacles distributed.
- Director was able to lease with Bhagat Chandra Hospital for emergency treatment at concessional rate.
Celebrations & Entertainment Activities:
- Children of Bal Vihar celebrated Lohri, Makar Sankranti, Republic Day, Holi, Independence Day, Id-Ul-Fitar, Rakshabandhan, Janamastmi, Gandhi Jayanti, Dushera, Diwali, Christmas, New Year Eve etc. with great enthusiasm.
- On 13th May 2015 children observed death anniversary of the founder of Bal Vihar Baba John Dayal with a condolence meeting and sung favorites prayers of Baba ji.
- International Yoga Day was also celebrated in the premises of Bal Vihar.
- Summer camp was organized during summer vacations and children learned (i) Best out of waste materials, (ii) Cooking snacks.
- Children of Bal Vihar went for picnic at “Wonder Of Dreams”, Noida Amusement Park and enjoyed various rides.
- Bal Vihar Children also visited International Trade Fair, Pragti Maidan, New Delhi and increased their knowledge.
- Bal Vihar Children participated in different competitions and won prizes i.e. competition organized by: Technia Inst. Of Advance Studies, Rohini, New Delhi. Samli won trophy in drawing & Chandni won trophy in dance competition.
- Bhoomi NGO organized Interorphange competition, children participated in group dance, solo dance, skit & drawing & quiz competitions and won prize in quiz Chanderbhan & Abhishek.
- Sangeeta won prize in art completion conducted by Mahila Vrind NGO at Bengali Colony, New Delhi.
- Children of Bal Vihar made Diyas on the occasion of Diwali and achieved good sale of those products.
- Bal Vihar Children Home distributed surplus woolen clothes in shelter home, Sector-12, Dwarka & donated blankets in HT Drive and to other needy people.
Special Celebration:
The 18th October 2015 was the great day for SONA, a daughter of Bal Vihar got married. Kanyadan was done by one of the donor of Bal Vihar Shri Siyaram ji. Sona is happy with her family in Prem Nagar, New Delhi & got a family for life.

- Mr. Jaiwant Daulat Singh has been contributed in smooth running of home.
- Mr. Amitabh Chaturvedi an senior advocate of Delhi High Court looks after the legal cases of the home.
The Bal Vihar Children Home received very encouraging support in term of cash and kind contribution from Patrons. Home has adopted a system of placing the monthly requirement on email. The Home received almost all requirements of daily use including bed-sheets, blankets, gaddas, furniture items and electrical appliances from the donors.
The marriage of girl child Sona became an event which attracted personal interest from generous donors. Almost all home requirements including gold jewellery, rings and watches were received.
The list of donors are placed at App to the report. Due to constrain of space name of all donors cannot printed. However Bal Vihar values each donation however small it may be and took forward for continuous support.
